Are you ready for the increase in National Living Wage?

From the 1st April National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage are set to increase. This means you have a legal obligation to review your payroll and ensure that everyone is being paid correctly.
We are in the process of working proactively with our clients to ensure that any changes are processed correctly with the appropriate statement of changes letters. Below are the new rates and associated percentage changes:
- National Living Wage applies to everyone over the age of 25. On 1st April 2018 it increases from £7.50 to £7.83 per hour. This is an increase of 4.4%.
- National Minimum Wage for people aged 21-24 increases from £7.05 to £7.38 per hour. This is an increase of 4.7%.
- National Minimum Wage for people aged 18-20 increases from £5.60 to £5.90 per hour. This is an increase of 5.4%.
- National Minimum Wage for people aged 16-17 increases from £4.05 to £4.20 per hour. This is an increase of 3.7%
- Apprentice Minimum Wage increases from £3.50 to £3.70 per hour. This is an increase of 5.7%.
