A look back on 2020

Let’s be honest, 2020 wasn’t the greatest year. There were a lot of negative things happen throughout the year, and many people spent a lot of time focussing too much time on these negatives. We are going to look back on the last 12 months from a positive point of view.
We learned to appreciate simple tasks. One year ago, we would’ve never imagined how much we would appreciate the privilege of going out to the supermarket or coffee shop without having to worry about masks, and sanitizer. Going to school in person and seeing friends seems like such a freedom after being deprived of it when we are in and out of lockdown.
There was significantly less air pollution this year. Due to the lack of people going to work, the grocery stores, and other places that need transportation, the amount of cars on the road was lessened. Therefore, the Earth finally had some time off from the stress of carbon emissions. There was so much less air pollution in the atmosphere, that people could see Mount Everest from India, for the first time in decades.
We learned the words ‘Zoom’ and ‘screen share’. Zoom became a staple in communicating with clients, and helped we were able to have what should have been face to face meetings, from our own homes, while sharing presentations virtually.
We all learned to appreciate frontline workers more. Before the pandemic, we never acknowledged frontline workers as much as we should’ve. Our views of who is a frontline worker was broadened from just healthcare workers and NHS to firefighters, supermarket workers, and teachers.
The country came together to create a vaccine in less than a year. Many vaccines take much longer to develop, some as long as to 10 years. Now, with the vaccine out, the future, and 2021, is looking much brighter. There is finally a light at the end of a very, very, long tunnel.
While all of this was happening, we continued to grow our business. We are proud that we have achieved a 100% client renewal rate, with 50% increasing to a longer-term contracts. That is testament to the team, the time and effort put into each and every client is magnificent, and we are proud of the service that we provide. We were able to respond quickly to changes in the market and offered more services to our clients with full support throughout the pandemic.
Within 24 hours of the first lockdown starting, we set up our support service on Zoom, with that we recruited two new staff to make sure that we were able to provide enough of the right type of support to our clients.
We are fortunate that we have been able to adapt to the changing environment and build on what we already do so well, and we are eternally grateful for our staff and clients who have worked together so well, meaning that we are raring to go in 2021. What a way to start our 10th anniversary year!
